MFA PRESS STATEMENT: VISIT BY EMERITUS SENIOR MINISTER GOH CHOK TONG TO QATAR AND UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, 4 TO 9 NOVEMBER 2012

Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong will visit Doha, Qatar, from 4 to 7 November 2012 to attend a meeting of the AECOM Global Advisory Board as a Board member, and to meet senior leaders of the Qatari Government and other prominent personalities. From Doha, ESM will visit Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), from 7 to 9 November 2012 where he will meet the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and other government leaders and senior business executives.


Singapore’s relations with Qatar and the UAE have strengthened in the past few years. ESM’s visits to Doha and Abu Dhabi are part of our broader efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation with these countries and other states of the Gulf Cooperation Council. ESM will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
